An interesting design. An amazing architecture. A beautiful photo.

I designed this pencil holder a year ago. It is made both for the function and aesthetics. The repurposing of the materials from Bunnings and the way how separated parts interact with each other may be the core of this design. The most interesting part of the design would be that it encourages people to see things from a different perspective and understand them like a new-born baby. It is also inspiring to think that pencils, the "users" here, are also part of the whole design and can actually help to express the emotions.

This is Cuadra San Cristobal in Mexico by Luis Barragan. The bold use of the emotional colours and the dramatic way to deal with water and open space together contribute to the poetic quality of this architecture. Barragan always believes that beautiful thing don't have to be functional, which was a big challenge to the popular functionism at that time. Even in today's society, when sustainability and function are becoming the main pursue in the architectural industry, it is still important to leave some space for imagination and dreams.

This is a photo taken by Harry Gruyaert. Although it looks like a random attempt to catch people's daily life, the movement and the varieties of colours in the photo are enough to tell a story. This photo is especially attractive also because it expresses simple but vague emotions by not showing people's faces. The photo itself is like riddle waiting to be solved. How it intrigues the viewers' curiosity is the reason why I think it is beautiful.
